Your baby this week
Your baby's head is about half the body length right now — a bit top-heavy! But the body will catch up soon. Your baby can open and close those little fists now, and is stretching, kicking, and even hiccuping in there, though you can't feel it yet. The hair follicles are forming, and the diaphragm is developing. Your lime-sized little acrobat is having the time of its life in there.
Your body this week
You may start feeling slightly better as nausea begins to subside and energy slowly returns. Your skin may be changing — a darker line (linea nigra) on your belly, darker nipples, or patches on your face called melasma. Your appetite may be coming back. Some women start to see a slight bump, especially if this isn't your first pregnancy. You're almost through the first trimester — and that's worth celebrating.
